We consult, design and complete hundreds of vehicle wrap installation projects each year.<\/p>\n<p>For those clients interested in learning more about how a vehicle wrap is installed\u2014or those do-it-yourself clients who\u2019d like a road map\u2014we\u2019ve compiled the following step-by-step guide of the proper way to install a vehicle wrap.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>VEHICLE WRAP INSTALLATION TOOLS<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Here are the tools you&#8217;ll need for a proper vehicle wrap installation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>X-ACTO Knife<\/li>\n<li>Soft edge squeegee<\/li>\n<li>Alcohol<\/li>\n<li>Rag\/Towel<\/li>\n<li>Propane Torch\/ Heat tool<\/li>\n<li>Measuring tape<\/li>\n<li>3M Primer product<\/li>\n<li>3M high performance cast material<\/li>\n<li>And a freshly cleaned vehicle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll also need a friend\u2014preferably one who is skilled at this sort of thing. We recommend using your hands and a clean cloth to wipe across the surface before sending it through the laminator in order to clear off any excess dirt or debris.<\/li>\n<li>Use 3M primer to prime the vehicle along deep channels and edges to help promote adhesion.<\/li>\n<li>Wipe down the vehicle with alcohol on any surfaces that may contain waxy residue, dust and dirt. It\u2019s important to note that small dings, dents and rusted material will show through as impressions under the vinyl wrap.<\/li>\n<li>Carefully measure to ensure precise placement. Be sure to start from the center and work your way out towards the edges. If you get stubborn air bubbles simply poke a small hole with an X-ACTO knife and use the squeegee tool to carefully flatten the surface.
